Sigma Gamma Rho

sigma gamma rho

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 12, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven esteemed school teachers. The organization became a national collegiate sorority shortly after the sorority’s founding, when a charter was granted to Alpha Chapter at Butler University. Xi Lambda Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho was founded June 3, 1995 by five young women, under the auspices of Eta Xi Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Oak Lawn, Illinois. The charter members include Sorors: Christina Scruggs (originally from Zeta Phi Chapter at Bradley University), Kymberly Sterling, Christina (Calbert) Outlay, Latonya Spiller, and Tiwanda Parker. This marked the day in history for Sigma Gamma Rho in being the only African American sorority chartered at DePaul University.

Xi Lambda Chapter has been busy recruiting and participating in community service projects throughout our existence. For membership questions please contact:
